Printer Not Available While Printing Documents
In the typical scenario one might try to print an Word Document or PDF File and is able to find that the Printer connected to the computer isn’t listed on the printer list.
When the user accesses the Control Panel and opens the Control Panel, the Printer is either listed as unspecified or isn’t available at all on the Printers & Devices Screen.
In the majority of cases, this problem can be solved through manual installation of the Printer. If this is not working it, you’ll have to follow different troubleshooting methods.
1. Add Local Printer in Windows 10
Make sure that the Printer is connected to your computer. Make sure it’s switched ON . Follow the steps listed below to connect the printer.
1. Open Settings on your computer , and then click Devices.
2. On the next screen, click Printers & Scanners in the left-hand pane. In the right-hand pane select the Add the option to add a Printer or a Scanner.
3. On the next screen, check if your computer is able show your printer. If not, click the The printer I’m looking for isn’t available.
4. On the next screen, choose Add a local Printer or Network printer that has manual settings, and then click Next.
5. On the next screen, choose Select an existing port Select the port you currently are using to print and click on Next.
Notice: If Printer is connected to the computer via USB cable, select the USB001 option. If you’re connected to a parallel connection and adapter, select the LPT1 port.
6. On the next screen, select the Printer Manufacturer from the bottom left corner. In the right-pane, click the printer Model and then click Next.
Notice: If the exact model of your printer not available, then select the closest driver available.
If the model or Manufacturer isn’t listed Click on the Windows Update to wait until Windows to show the drivers available.
You’ll need to be patient when you go through this procedure, as it could take a long time to get Windows to show the complete list of available printers.
7. Type the Name for the Printer and then click on Next.
8. Select Do Not Share This Printer and select Next.
9. On the next screen, you can print an experiment page and then hit Finish.
Your printer is now installed and should pop up on the list of pf printers when you attempt to print any file on your PC.
